There is still time to purchase your yearbook before the end of the year.  Yearbooks will be passed out on Wednesday, June 12.  They are $20, so stop by the main office and buy yours today!

We are holding an art contest to redesign the front cover of the planner! Students going INTO 7th or 8th grade may submit a drawing, either physical or digital. The drawing should be 8inches x 8inches at the largest, and may contain color. School appropriate designs will be submitted for peer vote. Today is the last day you can drop off your design in the office or Mr. Erdmans.

Please check your school email accounts for overdue book notices from the library. All books must be turned in by the last day of school to avoid fines. If you are unsure if you have overdue books please check with Mr. Schaeffer in the library.

Congratulations to all who have reported their reading in the 40 Book Challenge.  All participants will celebrate their efforts with an end-of-year treat and free books for those who read 30 or more books.  Be sure to submit your 40 Book Challenge form to Mr. Schaeffer in the library by Thursday, June 6th to qualify.

The last day for library checkout is tomorrow. You will not be allowed to check out books after this Friday. If you want to check out a book make sure you do so by the end of the week. All library books need to come back to the library before the last day of school. If they are not returned to the library before the last day of school you will be fined the cost of the book. Congratulations to Crossler for their participation yesterday in the Meet of Champions at Corvallis High School.  Madison Downey, Stella Puckett, Kayla Pobuda, Grace Greeen, and Tucker Piper all represented Crossler.  Madison competed in the 4 by 100 relay, the 100 meter dash, and the long jump.  She finished 5th overall in the long jump.  Tucker competed in the 1500 and broke the school record by running a 4 minute and 34 second race.

Great work by all of these participants in one of the top meets in the state.

Congratulations to all the All-City track and field participants for their performances at Sprague High School yesterday afternoon.

The girls finished in fourth place overall.   The star of the day was Madison Downey.  Madison won the long jump, finished 3rd in the high jump, 4th in the 100M and anchored the 3rd place 4 by 100 meter 8th grade girls relay along with Kayla Pobuda, Grace Green, and Stella Puckett.  Stella also finished 3rd in the 100 meter final.

The 7th grade 4 by 100 meter relay team of Amity Rogers, Taylor Pierce, Asante Flores, and Sidney Friesen won the All-City title with their best run of the season.  Amity also finished 5th in the 100 meters and Sidney finished 7th.

The 6th grade 4 by 100 meter relay team of Cole Collins, Reagan Roebuck, Lucy McAllister, and Keyara Brown finished second overall in the sixth grade division.

In throwing, Gabrielle Graham finished 3rd and Hannah Dickerson finished 7th in the 6th grade girls shot put.

For the boys, Tucker Piper won his second straight 1500 meter championship and also finished 3rd in the high jump.  Gavin Price had a personal best run and finished 6th in the 100 meters.

If all the All-City participants could stand up please, we can give them a round of applause.  Great work team!

Today is finally the Plant Sale Day!  After school today you can pick up your flowers in the auxiliary gym.  If you are riding a bus, get to the gym fast, as the busses won’t wait.  Remember the large hanging baskets are not allowed on school busses.  We will be open until 4:00 today.  It is very important that you bring your receipt that were handed out yesterday.   Thanks again for everyone who supported the plant sale…  We could not do it without you!

The Sprague High School boys’ basketball program is holding tryouts for their upcoming summer league season. Summer League is an opportunity for incoming freshman to practice with the Sprague Basketball program and play in games and tournaments throughout the course of June. Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding work in this year’s Pentagames math competition: Kaleena Devoy, Dylan Thomas, Hailey Varner, Austin Grimes, Carlos Marin, Andrew McCartney, Hayden Hamilton, Kiana Shim, and Nicole Varner.   After competing against students from middle schools in the surrounding area, we won awards in many categories.   Multiple individual awards were earned by Carlos, Andrew, Kiana, and Hayden.   Out of all of the 8th graders, Carlos took 2nd place and Andrew took 1st place. Kiana and Hayden tied for the 2nd place award out of all of the advanced math participants. For the team awards, Crossler’s Advanced team took 2nd place and our 8th grade team received 1st place. Way to go!

Congratulations to the girls and boys track teams for their performances last Thursday against Parrish at North Salem.

The victorious girls were led by Madison Downey who won the high jump, long jump, the 8th grade 100 meters, and she was also on the 8th grade relay team with Stella Puckett, Kayla Pobuda, and Grace Green.  Other winners included Sara Abbott in the 800 meters, Abigail Alburn in the 1500 meters, and Amity Rogers in the 400 meters

In the throwing competition, Sydney Goergen won the 7th and 8th grade shot put, Gabrielle Graham won the 6th grade shot, and Korin Yermachenkov won the discus.

The boys also had some fine efforts,.  Manny Romero won the 800 meters, Jackson Halle won the 400 meters, Gavin Price won the 6th grade boys 100 meters, Tucker Piper won the 1500 meters, and Joe Hanna won the 8th grade 100 meters.

Other winners included Josiah Flu in the long jump and Hudson Whipple in the high jump.

Great work by all the athletes.  The next meet is this Thursday against Judson and Leslie.

Great job by all the track athletes in their efforts against Whiteaker yesterday at Sprague.

The boys were led by victories from Joe Hanna in the 8th grade 100m, Tucker Piper in the 1500M, and Gavin Price in the 6th grade 100M.  The 6th grade boys 4 by 100 team of Phalen Arnold, Gavin Price, Sullivan Puckett, and Kenya Johnson also won.   Sullivan was also second in the 6th grade boys 100M,  Jack Halle finished second in the 400M and Quentin Sadler was second in the 200M.

For girls, Madison Downey won the high jump and the long jump, Madeline Abalay finished second in the high jump, Arianna Guizer was third in the hurdles, Taylor Pierce was second in both the 7th grade 100M and the 200M, Sara Abbott was second in the 800M and Abigail Alburn was second in the 1500M.

Great work!  Remember there is no practice today.

AVID applications are now available in the front office. Everyone is welcome to apply, and the class is a two semester class. AVID focuses on organization, teamwork, note taking, getting prepared for college and other important skills!  AVID applications are due Thursday, April 25th.

Talent show auditions will be on May 7 and 8 after school.  Start thinking about your performance and sign up in the main office.  Track athletes, you should sign up for Wednesday the 8th if possible.

Congratulations to Concert Choir for their incredible performance last night at the All-City Advanced Festival! If you are a member of Concert Choir please stand and be recognized!

Good morning Crossler Crocs!

Here is your Coin Drive Update:  Last week we raised $1,142!!!!!!  Mrs. Alburn’s class is in Frist place, with Mrs. Zend in 2nd and Mrs. Mcbride in 3Rd place.  This is the last week for the drive, so bring in your Pennies for Patients!

A huge, huge thank you to each and everyone who supported the Life Skills plant sale.  We are still tabulating all the winners.  We know the top winners, but need to get down to the nitty gritty, so we will announce all winners tomorrow.  Today as we are passing out the candy, we will be looking for any orders you might have.  The Life Skills is thrilled to have such a caring school, again thanks for all your support!

We made it though the week!!!!  We want to thank each and every person who supported the life skills class by selling flowers.  We will let you know on Monday who our top sellers are.    Again, we could not do this without you and we appreciate all of your efforts.  Have a fantastic weekend and thanks again!

We are almost there, the time is almost over, the week is coming to an end…  The time is NOW…   Please order flower baskets from the Life Skills class today.  Our classroom depends on these flowers which means we depends on you.  Please take the time to talk to your families about the flowers, then turn orders in by tomorrow!  We know you can do it!  The Life Skills class thank you in advance for getting those orders in!

A new club will starting this week in the library. Magic the Gathering club is starting today. The club will meet Monday – Friday 2:30-3:30pm in the library. Players of all skill levels are welcome and please bring your cards.

As a school we raised 213 dollars last week! Ms. Kasler’s period 1 class is in first place, with Mrs.Zen’s class in second place and Mrs. Alburn’s in a close third.

In order for our school to reach our goal of 1,500 dollars, we need to step our game up!  Each class needs to raise a minimum of 50 dollars for us to reach our goal.  Keep it up Crossler- your spare change could CHANGE someone’s live!

Happy Friday from the Life Skills Class

Rain or shine this weekend will be great time to share our plant sale with others.  Remember as you sell flowers it’s your job to keep track of where the plants go.  If you sell to a neighbor be sure to write down their name so you remember who to deliver it to.  Our back counters are stacked with Candy ready to deliver to you in your first period class, we can’t wait to send you a treat! .   Dylan Thomas was the first student to turn in $100.00 dollar order way to go Dylan!  One week from today all the plant orders are due so be sure to show your family the order form, or go onto Crossler home page to order online.  We thank you in advance for helping our classroom .

NJHS is leading us in a Spring Coin Drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

LLS is the world’s largest non-profit health organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers.  The Pennies for Patients program helps raise money to fund research for therapies that save the lives of blood cancer patients.

This will run from April 1st to April 19th in your First Period classes. Coins and cash are welcome, as well as checks. Please make checks out to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or LLS. We are not doing online donations.

Our school goal is to collect $1,500!  The class who collects the most money will win a pasta lunch from Olive Garden. The class in second place will win donuts.

The Life Skills Class wants to thank you for showing your family the plant order form.  Remember when you sell plants you help the Life Skills class and you get sweeeeeeeeeet candy and beauuuuuuuuutiful flowers.      Pay close attention because we have a deal for you.  The wonderful Mrs. Ringstad was our very first plant order this year, she is willing to give the credit to the first student who brings in a $100.00 dollar order.  That means your first period class could earn an extra $100.00 to their grand total, and you get more candy!   Get those orders in friends….

The Life Skills Class is kicking off the plant sale today.  During first period your teacher will give you a pink plant order form. Please show your family the form as soon as possible. This year, plants can be ordered and paid for online, check out the order form for details.   Every person who turns in a plant order earns candy, Top sellers will be recognized in the showcase, plus more treats and a free plant.  The top selling 1st period classroom earns a breakfast celebration.  The plants make beautiful gifts for your special mom or grandma or aunt or sister or even that special dad on Mother’s day.  The Life Skills class thanks you in advance for helping their class.

Today is the first day of Track practice.  All athletes that are signed up, need to dress down and report to the main gym after school.  If you do not have your physical updated and on file in the office, you need to go to practice but you cannot participate.
