Friday, May 24th

There is still time to purchase your yearbook before the end of the year.  Yearbooks will be passed out on Wednesday, June 12.  They are $20, so stop by the main office and buy yours today!

 

Attention all 6th and 7th graders!!!!  It is time to start thinking about football next year.  To start you off on the right foot, sign up for our FREE football camp!  The camp is held NEXT WEEK, May 28-30 from 3:00 to 4:30.  All you need are football cleats and workout clothes.  To sign up, please stop by the main office for a flier to register online.  Please see Coach Benjamin or Coach Saunders if you have any questions.

 

Attention all 8th grade girls interested in playing summer basketball for Sprague, player evaluations are next Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 pm at Sprague.  Yes, Monday is Memorial Day, but we still have player evaluations.  You must attend at least one of these sessions to be eligible for summer league. Attention all 7th graders, it is your time to start thinking about your 8th grade trip to Washington DC and New York City for the summer of 2020. Ms. Kasler is holding an informational meeting on May 28th at 6pm in her classroom. Bring your parents to learn more about this once in a lifetime opportunity!

 

A new contest is here, the spring photography contest! Grab your cameras and capture some of the spring beauty around you. Make sure to have a nice printed copy that you can turn into the office by May 31st. Pictures will be displayed in the commons and voted on at the end of the month.  Please submit your original photographs only.

 

We are holding an art contest to redesign the front cover of the planner! Students going INTO 7th or 8th grade may submit a drawing, either physical or digital. The drawing should be 8inches x 8inches at the largest, and may contain color. School appropriate designs will be submitted for peer vote. You can drop off your design in the office or Mr. Erdmans classroom until Friday, June 7th.

 

NJHS:  We will have our Final Meeting TODAY in the Commons from 2:45 to 4:00.  Wear your T-shirts for a group photo!!!!  Be ready to celebrate!

 

The last day for library checkout is tomorrow. You will not be allowed to check out books after this Friday. If you want to check out a book make sure you do so by the end of the week. All library books need to come back to the library before the last day of school. If they are not returned to the library before the last day of school you will be fined the cost of the book. If you are unsure if you have overdue books please check with Mr. Schaeffer in the library.

 

Congratulations to Crossler for their participation yesterday in the Meet of Champions at Corvallis High School.  Madison Downey, Stella Puckett, Kayla Pobuda, Grace Greeen, and Tucker Piper all represented Crossler.  Madison competed in the 4 by 100 relay, the 100 meter dash, and the long jump.  She finished 5th overall in the long jump.  Tucker competed in the 1500 and broke the school record by running a 4 minute and 34 second race.

Great work by all of these participants in one of the top meets in the state.

Congratulations to all the All-City track and field participants for their performances at Sprague High School yesterday afternoon.

The girls finished in fourth place overall.   The star of the day was Madison Downey.  Madison won the long jump, finished 3rd in the high jump, 4th in the 100M and anchored the 3rd place 4 by 100 meter 8th grade girls relay along with Kayla Pobuda, Grace Green, and Stella Puckett.  Stella also finished 3rd in the 100 meter final.

The 7th grade 4 by 100 meter relay team of Amity Rogers, Taylor Pierce, Asante Flores, and Sidney Friesen won the All-City title with their best run of the season.  Amity also finished 5th in the 100 meters and Sidney finished 7th.

The 6th grade 4 by 100 meter relay team of Cole Collins, Reagan Roebuck, Lucy McAllister, and Keyara Brown finished second overall in the sixth grade division.

In throwing, Gabrielle Graham finished 3rd and Hannah Dickerson finished 7th in the 6th grade girls shot put.

For the boys, Tucker Piper won his second straight 1500 meter championship and also finished 3rd in the high jump.  Gavin Price had a personal best run and finished 6th in the 100 meters.

If all the All-City participants could stand up please, we can give them a round of applause.  Great work team!

Crossler Crocs!!  We’ve got an offer you can’t resist! Your catering class will be selling delicious Italian Sodas at lunch, on May 22nd.  Make sure to bring $2.00, we will be selling at both A and B lunch. Flavors include creamsicle and strawberry lemonade, hope to see you there!

 

Sprague dance team auditions start TODAY and run through May 16th. All incoming Sprague students interested in dance are welcomed to try out!  Stop by the office for audition information.
